Jeremiah 2:13

“My people have committed two sins:
They have forsaken me,
    the spring of living water,
and have dug their own cisterns,
    broken cisterns that cannot hold water.” Jeremiah 2:13

Father God, I’m sorry that I have often tried to find love, worth and purpose in things and people; what I find in them offers only momentary satisfaction before fulfilment escapes me again. Things and people cannot quench my thirst! Only You give lasting satisfaction. Please forgive me. Thank You that You are ‘living water’, always there, always pure and refreshing. Keep me looking to You for all I need. In Jesus’ Name. Amen.
